Literature Searches

Reference librarians are available to assist you with your research by helping you locate needed resources. Contact Amber Owrey (aowrey@uu.edu or 731-661-5058) or Savannah Patterson (spatterson@uu.edu or 731-661-6544) to request assistance. Please allow at least two weeks' lead time.

Interlibrary Loan

Use Interlibrary Loan to borrow materials Union does not have from other libraries. Books and articles can be requested through Interlibrary Loan. For questions or assistance with Interlibrary Loans, please contact Stephen Mount (smount@uu.edu or 731-661-5419).

Recording Studio

The library is equipped with a recording studio where you can record a podcast, video lecture, screen cast lecture, etc. Please use the Book the Recording Studio link on the library homepage to schedule a recording studio session. You may also contact Darius Mullin (dmullin@uu.edu or 731-661-6579) with questions or reservations.

Electronic Resources

Database List

As a member of Union's community, you have access to more than 120 databases covering a variety of content areas. The list can be found using the Databases, E-Books, and Media quick link on the library homepage.

Electronic Journals

Union has a large number of electronic journals available to use for research or browsing. Use the Journals By Title or Subject quick link to access our electronic journals. You can search for a specific journal by title or browse journals from certain subject areas. 

eBooks

eBooks can be accessed by visiting the Databases, E-Books, and Media quick link and finding databases with the eBooks icon or using the Database Types filter and narrowing to eBooks. You can also search all eBooks in the library catalog. Simply type your search terms into the search bar then click the eBooks filter to narrow results to eBooks only. For assistance finding eBooks, please contact a librarian. eBooks can be downloaded or read on your internet browser.

Films on Demand

Films on Demand is an academic media streaming platform. You will find videos (documentaries, interviews, news broadcasting, etc.) on a variety of academic content. If you would like to create a playlist or save your viewing history, simply create an account using your Union email. Additional media resources have a camcorder icon and are found on the Databases, E-books, and Media quick link.
