RefWorks

This guide will show you the basics of using RefWorks, the research source management tool.

How to create a bibliography in RefWorks:

From the All References, Last Imported, or specific folder page

  1. Click the box next to the references you would like to include in your bibliography (Works Cited or References)
  2. If you would like all the references from a particular folder click the box at the top that says "select all on this page"
  3. Click the bottom at the top that says "Create Bibliography"
  4. From the dropdown, choose "Create Bibliography"
  5. You can change your citation style using the drop down menu at the top of the screen and searching for your particular citation style.
  6. Use "copy to clipboard" button and paste into your assignment 

*Remember to check your bibliography for mistakes. Also, not all citation styles and editions are available.

Using Quick Cite:

Create parenthetical in-text citations and a bibliography from the Quick Cite pop up window. This tool is found in the drop down menu under "Create Bibliography"

To create an in-text citation: 
  1. Choose your citation style when prompted to do so (after opening pop up window) and press "Continue"
  2. Hover your mouse over the reference you need for the citation and choose "Copy Citation"
  3. The in-text citation will appear in the box at the top of the screen 
  4. Press the clipboard icon to copy then paste into your document
To create a bibliography:
  1. Choose your citation style when prompted to do so and press "Continue"
  2. Click the boxes next to the references you would like to include in your bibliography
  3. Press "Continue to Bibliography"
  4. Your bibliography has been created. Choose "Copy to Clipboard" to copy and paste into your document
