Resources and Tips to help during COVID-19

Social Media

The library has several social media accounts on which announcements and updates are posted.  Follow the library on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get the latest news fast!

Library hours will be posted on all social media accounts and library doors.

Purpose

The purpose of this guide is to give the Union community a list of resources that are available off campus or remotely during the Covid-19 outbreak.

While the library is closed to visitors, we are still maintaining online resources. We are also providing virtual assistance through Zoom Research Coach Appointments, email, or phone conversations. Please contact Melissa Moore, mmoore@uu.edu, with general questions. Please contact Amber Wessies, awessies@uu.edu, or Savannah Patterson, spatterson@uu.edu, with research questions.

Prevention Steps from CDC

Please remember to use reliable sources for information about COVID-19. Government websites are a great place to get trustworthy information; this includes the mayor's and governor's press releases.

The following are the CDC's recommendations for protecting yourself and others:

  1. Clean/Wash your hands often (with soap and water for at least 20 seconds)
  2. Although washing with soap and water hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can also be used
  3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick and put distance between yourself and others (6 feet)
  4. Stay home if you are sick
  5. Cover coughs and sneezes using your elbow a tissue (throw the tissue away) then wash your hands
  6. Wear a facemask if you are sick (only wear a facemask if you are sick or treating someone sick)
  7. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces

As Christians, we should also pray for our leaders, healthcare professionals, researchers, and those who are sick.
